Caribbean Stud Poker.
Caribbean Stud Poker - Game Play Description and Objective Caribbean Stud Poker is standard Five-Card Stud Poker with a slight twist: one of the dealer’s cards is always displayed. Players compete against the dealer, rather than other players. The objective of the game is to beat the dealer’s hand. Game Play After placing the ante bet, the player and dealer each receive five cards; one of the dealer’s cards is dealt face up. The player must now decide either to fold, if he does not think he can beat the dealer’s hand, or to raise and challenge the dealer. If the player chooses to fold, he loses the ante bet and the game is over. If the player chooses to raise, he bets an additional amount equal to twice the ante bet, the dealer reveals his remaining cards, a winner is determined, win paid if applicable, and the game is over. To determine the game winner after the player has raised, the dealer’s hand must first “qualify”. In Caribbean Stud Poker, the dealer’s hand qualifies if it ranks as High Card with an Ace and a King or ranks as a Pair or better. If the dealer’s hand does not qualify, the player wins 1 to 1 on the ante bet and “pushes” the raise bet (i.e. the player gets the raise bet back without winning or losing). If the dealer’s hand does qualify, the best ranking hand wins. If the dealer’s hand ranks higher, the player loses both the ante bet and the raise bet. If the player’s hand ranks higher, the player wins 1 to 1 on the ante bet and wins the raise bet calculated according to the Raise Pay Table. If both the dealer’s hand and the player’s hand have the same rank, the highest ranking card determines the winner (for example, a Pair of Kings beats a Pair of 10s). Finally, if the dealer’s hand ties the player’s hand both the ante bet and the raise bet are pushed back to the player. Progressive Jackpot (Optional) If the casino has enabled this option, the player may place a side bet of $1. If the player is dealt any of the Progressive Pay Table Hand Rankings, he may win all or a portion (depending on his hand rank) of the progressive jackpot. The current jackpot is displayed at the top, which increases as players place these side bets. Progressive Coin Slot To place a progressive bet, click on the coin slot. The light on top of the slot will light up red to show that you’ve placed the progressive bet. To undo the bet, simply click on the slot again. Button Descriptions Deal: Clicking on the Deal button after placing a bet starts a new game. Raise: Clicking on the Raise button sets the raise bet to twice the ante bet and challenges the dealer. Fold: Clicking on the Fold button forfeits the current game and forfeits the ante bet.

Caribbean Poker Goal
Caribbean PokerThe Goal of the Game: The goal of this table game is to get a better Poker hand than the dealer, who must hold at least an Ace and a King, for you to really win, and all this happens after placing two bets. So, read on. Playing the Game: Caribbean Poker is a table game, more closely related to Blackjack, than to Poker. Poker hands are used for scoring. The first decision in Caribbean Poker is how much to bet. And remember there are two betting phases. The initial bet, before the cards are dealt, when you "ante" in. The dealer deals five cards to you, and five cards to himself. The dealer turns one of its cards face up. Then you decide whether to place a "call" bet, or surrender. If you surrender, you lose the hand and the ante. If you make the "call" bet, the dealer reveals its cards and the game continues. To "qualify" the dealer must hold at least an Ace-King, or better. If the dealer does not qualify, you walk away with the ante, but your "call" bet is returned. If the dealer does qualify, it's your cards against the dealer's. If you win, the ante pays even money. If you win with anything better than a pair, the house a multiple of your "call" bet, according to a bonus ranking - see the table under Betting and Payoff.

Caribbean Poker stud
What are your thoughts about poker players who call an abnormal amount of hands? I find them very frustrating to play against. Is there a way to beat them? Calling a hand in poker is essentially matching the current wager. For instance, if there had been a bet of $2, then a raise of $2, it would cost a player $4 to call. Calling a bet is the cheapest and the most passive way to remain in a hand. In the lingua franca of poker, a player who is forever calling hands is dubbed a calling station. Like you, Tom, I find them frustrating, though beatable to play against. You prevail over constant callers by obviously making your hands, and once you have identified a calling station, knowing they often fail to press their advantage when they have relatively strong cards. Calling stations by and large tend to play passively, a style of play that is characterized by the reluctance to bet and raise. Contrast that to a loose player who plays more hands and holds on to them longer; a loose-passive player who will call with almost anything, but raise only with very powerful hands; an aggressive player whose play is characterized by frequent raising and re-raising; or a tight player who generally plays fewer hands and folds them earlier. Unfortunately, as you well know, calling stations will hit more backdoor and other unlikely draws than most players, and that is why they can be annoying to play alongside. The style of play that has worked very well for me over the years against most players, including pesky calling stations, is being tight-aggressive. Tight-aggressive players are very selective about the cards they play, but aggressive once they get involved with a decent hand. It is a playing style, Tom, I highly recommend Do you know if the game of Caribbean Poker originates from the Caribbean, or by some game maker in Nevada? Caribbean Stud Poker, a five-card stud poker type game without the luxury of a draw, was invented and first offered in 1988 in an Aruba casino. Though the game has skyrocketed in popularity all over the world, popular or not, the house edge is still a tough beat at 5.3 percent, with the progressive bonus side bet at 48 percent. Gambling quote of the week: "Always remember, the first thing a gambler has to do is make friends with himself. A lot of people go through this world thinking they're somebody else. There are a lot of players sitting at this table with mistaken identities." Pug Pearson, Fast Company (1975).
